At the ROP we strive to get the most out of every dollar that we receive. Our staff members in the U.S. are all volunteers so we can assure you that 100% of your donation goes towards the care of the children living at the ROP Center in Rwanda. Whether you donate by check or via Paypal, your money first goes to the ROP bank account in America or the UK, where our U.S. based accountant records the donation.
We have a rigorous accounting system that ensures your money is looked after and accounted for at all stages. Our monthly accounting is overseen by our Rwandan accountant, our American executive director and finally, by our treasurers in the USA and the UK.
It is a top priority for us that every penny that is kindly donated to our organization is used in the most efficient way possible and that the organization is completely transparent. With our limited funding we realize the importance of getting the most out of every donation.
The ROP is registered in the United States as a 501(c)3 non-profit charity (EIN 83-0506468), and as a registered charity in the United Kingdom (Charity #1159768). We are happy to issue prompt receipts of your donations for your tax reporting purposes

Sponsor a Child
One of the most rewarding ways to become an ROP donor is to make the long term commitment of sponsoring one of our children. This allows you to follow the story of a child whose life you are helping to change and allows us a steady donation to rely on to provide all the needs they require.
Sponsoring a child is simple. All we ask is that you commit to donating $35 (£20) each month for a basic sponsorship or $50 (£35) each month for an extended sponsorship by setting up an automatic monthly payment.
Your long term support will help him/her and the other children supported by ROP continue receiving education, counseling and opportunities they need to grow up to be strong, successful, independent young adults.

If you would like to make a long-term commitment to helping us give a child a stable life and a more promising future, please choose from the options below.
Basic sponsorship will help provide the basic needs of the children, such as clothing, medical treatment, food and other necessities. This option costs $35 (£20) each month.
Extended sponsorship will help us provide all the needs of a basic sponsorship, but also provides for the funding of the child’s education, including school fees and student materials. This option costs $50 (£35) each month.
When choosing your sponsorship on the PayPal page, please make sure you tick the box for that says “make this a recurring donation” so we receive your support each month.
PLEASE NOTE: The money from your donation will go into the ROP’s general fund, which supports all of the children we care for, and does not go directly to any individual children. For reasons of privacy and respect to our children, we do not inform the children when they are sponsored and no communication between child and sponsor happens.
